"You get that your mom will kill me, right," Jamia mused, playing with his hair. "If the witch chops you up, or steals your source code, or transfers you into a canary. Your mom will find out I got you in touch with them, and she is literally going to kill me."
"My mom loves you. You're her favorite person that she didn't make herself."
Jamia laughed, and held his hand, and told him she would think about him, and that she'd go with him if she could.
The witch's invitation arrived in Frank's hallway, hand-written on a piece of red cloth smaller than his palm. It was addressed to him (his serial number wasn't on it, but his name was spelled correctly), so he guessed he was to go alone.
"Anyway, it's not your fault," Frank added, and put his head in her lap, for comfort, for courage. "This is the best chance we've got."
Jamia was the one who could get into human clubs. She found someone who knew someone whose friend's sister knew how to get in touch with a cyberwitch.
Frank's mom was dying in this city, and the city didn't care. And Frank knew a cyberwitch could get you anything you wished for - if you could afford it.
